Lovely, Cynthia. Your Dad and my Mom were born the same year, but your Dad lasted a few years longer. My Dad was a year older, was also a WWII vet and sensitive to his cohorts and other vets. It’s good to be able to celebrate them, but hard not to have them with us still. Sighh.
I always loved your dad. I remember him explaining to me that I couldn’t be a Catholic and skip the transformation of the host into the Sacred Body. He didn’t even laugh at me when he explained!
