Well, at least it's not Sepsis this time???

Talk about always looking for the silver lining.

I’ve been a bit quiet this week because I’m trying to wrap my head around what is going on in my life. As I’ve mentioned, my mobility and pain issues have really increased and I have had a few falls. Saw the doctor at the pain clinic. She’s a piece of work. She kept telling me that my MRI from a year ago didn’t look bad. Yeah, uh, but….. So she ordered an MRI and walked out of the office saying, “I have no idea what this problem is, Cynthia.” Gee, thanks.

I worked remotely the first part of the week but on Thursday I was intent on getting there to do the CSA check in. I just couldn’t get to the car. Ernie got a stool behind me before I fell to the ground but I knew I was going. I attempted a couple of things and knew I had to call it. Then the big problem: getting me back in the house. Ernie followed along with the stool and I would stop and sit every few feet. Managed the step up into the house. Sat on the stool again. I got up two steps before my legs gave out. I managed to scooch up the last steps and there I was, sitting on the kitchen floor. In the past I’ve managed, with great difficulty, to pull myself up. It was impossible. I tried every thing from slithering like a snake to scooting to a place to try again. Nothing. However it gave me an ENTIRELY NEW VIEW of the cleanliness of my kitchen. Woof. Another thing I have to figure out…getting someone in to help clean that I can afford.

O.k, back to sitting on the floor. Ernie finally called the fire department and three lovely firefighters came and popped me up. They asked if I wanted to go to the hospital but I said no, I already had an MRI scheduled.

A glass of wine and some comfort from neighbor Barb (❤️), then BLTs, a bit of the DNC and to sleep. My MRI was scheduled for 6:30 am. I woke up at 1:44 and had to go to the bathroom. I clunked in with Little Guy, had to stop half way to rest. I got into the bathroom feeling very wobbly, and as I paused to pull my underwear down, my feet just went out from under me.

There I was, flat on the floor of the downstairs bathroom, in a pool of pee to add insult to injury, and in the furthest spot he away from the bedrooms. I called and called. Thought about laying there until morning but worried Ernie would think I was dead when he came down. Finally I grabbed the plunger and started using the handle to hit the sink and the door frame. That must have done something as my next round of calling worked and a sleepy, worried Ernie came running down. There was no way I could get up. My legs were just too week. So my firefighter friends came back and this time I told them to take me to the emergency room. Such a strange view of your world disappearing as you look out the back window of the ambulance as they pull away.
