Utter and complete gratitude. That’s the only way to describe how I felt last Sunday evening and since. Gratitude for the glories of Fats and Kristi Rose’s music and for their kind and loving friendship. Gratitude for all of those that joined us, new friends and old. Gratitude for the generosity everyone showed bringing food and drink, and donations for the artists. Gratitude for the friendship of Carrie and Ann who showed up the day before and helped us (meaning a very tired Ernie) clean and prep. Grateful to the inimitable Ann for hanging lights on our porch and showing up the next afternoon with a wreath for our door.
Utter gratitude and joy at the love our friends have for Fats and Kristi Rose. I loved looking out and seeing smiles of recognition and pleasure when a familiar song was announced. Come See the Baby. Maloney Road. David Olney’s Roses. One More Day.
Gratitude for seeing those that were kids when they saw them play in the early days now attending as adults. Sophie at the second Fats and Kristi Rose house concert, and last weekend.
My friend Nan texted me the next day and said, “I had so much fun. It really felt like the true meaning of Christmas,” and that touched my heart. It really did feel like that.
When they signed the big guitar we were counting signatures to see how often they’d been here. I decided to do some research. Here are all the times they have played here.

Of course Fats was here prior to all that when he was at our first show with Kane Welch Kaplin in 2008. So (sadly for beloved competitor Sergio Webb) Fats is in the lead of most visits to Sandwich Life. What an honor for us!
Thanks and love to all. And Merry Christmas.
Onward to Christmas, thanks to Fats, Kristi Rose, and all of you.
Love,
Cynthia
I wish I could count how many times I was there and saw them. It really isn't Christmas without Fats and Kristi and Ernie and you. Merry Christmas to all.
So grateful for friends like you. Thanks for a magical evening.
