Well, ok. Ernie and Leo got home from the emergency room after about six hours. Ernie got a blood transfusion and his numbers were better by the time they left. He seems ok. I tried to tell Leo how much I appreciated him being there but there’s no way he can really know how much. He was not just company but comfort to Ernie and that means the world to me.
As I tiredly tried to finish work after he got home I sent an email to the wrong group of 100+ people. Never try to do ‘one more thing’ when you’re exhausted. We ordered out, which we’ve done twice this week and we really can’t afford but we are sometimes too tired to cook even though there is food in the kitchen. I need to get in the habit of cooking/thinking about dinner earlier in the day.
I’m crazy busy at work but taking an hour break (not really supposed to be working so many hours anyway) to update folks and try to relax a bit. Being stressed out does not help my neck and back whatsoever. Deep breaths, Cynthia, deep breaths. Honestly, between my medical crap and Ernie’s medical crap it’s a full time job. Carle just called and asked Ernie if he wanted a follow up appointment with his primary care. He paused and looked at me and I said, “Hell, do THEY want him to have one?” He politely declined unless the doctor wanted to see him. It’s like when I’m on the phone with my Health Alliance person and she asks me if there’s anything else I could take for my pain. I just want to say, “I DON’T KNOW LADY, NOT MY FUCKING JOB.” Instead I just said, “Well, nothing else has been offered to me.” I’d already told her I used to take Tramadol but they stopped my prescription when they switched me to hydrocodone, ibuprofen doesn’t touch it, and I use ice packs as well as the hyrdrodone. WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE. YOU TELL ME.
Ok, back to deep breathing. In case you had any doubts as to whether Ernie is the best, I don’t know, husband, partner, person in the world. I just looked at him and asked him how the morning glories are this morning. He said he didn’t know and I looked at him in shock, “You went outside and didn’t SEE them?” He had some excuse about a cricket but got up and went and took pictures of them for me.
Onward.
Love,
Cynthia
