Quick Update
Well, THAT was a hell of a long day. Ernie left the house a bit past 6:30 yesterday morning for the emergency room.
They could not figure things out so he eventually came home, exhausted, with a bloody catheter at his side. We sat and kinda stared at each other for a while but fortunately, not longer after, TAL ARRIVED! You know I was tired because I didn’t even take a picture. She looks as beautiful as ever and my beloved salt and pepper shakers are together. I’m so happy to have her here.
A bit later Ernie and I wolfed down some leftovers. Neither of us had eaten all day. I ate too fast and thus had indigestion all night long. Ain’t life grand?
None of that mattered though because I had my baby home.
My friend Heather had texted me earlier and said she was going to the store and asked if I needed anything. I told her I was fine. Then about 15 minutes later I texted her back and said, “WAIT, I know what I could use, a bottle of wine!” I may not be drinking much these days but it was definitely a day that rated a glass of wine. She obligingly showed up at my door later with wine and tulips, found a vase, put a new bag in the trash can and sat and listened to me aimlessly ramble. Ernie and I are so fortunate with our family of friends. Oh, in fact, the night before, my friend Susan had surreptitiously planted perennials in my yard!
Today we are trying to recover. I did a bit of work, we watched reruns of ER. I took a shower, he folded some laundry and cleaned the litterbox. I think that’s plenty of productivity for the day. Tomorrow we have an appointment and of course Ernie needs to call about following up from the ER. And I guess I have to solve my insurance issue and call about a prescription for my MRI. Good God, it really feels like a full time job some times. That’s ok though, I’m taking the rest of the day off. Thanks for thinking good thoughts for my guy. ❤️
Onward.
Love,
Cynthia
