I’m looking for incantations, spells and curses to get rid of the last of this pneumonia. Please submit if you have any. When I was in third grade my father spent a fair amount of time in the hospital for a tumor affecting his ear and brain. I always forget what it’s called. Anyway, my brilliant teacher had the whole class make get well cards. Reportedly they were festooned all over my father’s hospital room. He was in isolation so I was never allowed to visit. Later, given that he was still there, my teacher had the class make cards with spells and curses to make him better. I wish I had pictures of them all as I think I may be in need of them myself. I know my father would share.
I don’t think the antibiotics did a damn thing for all this other than destroy my system. Oh, and yeah, mid morning yesterday I uncomfortably realized I had a raging yeast infection. Gee, thanks, antibiotics. You have to destroy my system AND my vagina.
All I want is to be able to hear again (side note: All I Want is one of my favorite Amy Rigby songs. I love her so. She and Wreckless Eric are selling their house in the US. Wanna buy it?) . Here at home I think I’m hearing really well but out in the real world is a different thing. The kind woman who is training me for my new job finally said (most understandably and thankfully) that she can’t train me until I can hear. So I am starting on a limited basis for this week. Sigh.
Well, enough whining. I will get there.
We’ve been rethinking our media room. Here is a work in progress picture. We’d tried having the exercise bike down here instead of upstairs, thinking I’d use it more often. Instead the reverse happened. Somehow, getting up in the morning and thinking that I have to do it then or I’ll have to clump upstairs later. Given that the stairs are still a bit of a grind for me that worked as motivation. When I come down and it’s here I just think, ‘oh, I’ll do that in a bit.” So upstairs it went (courtesy of my beautiful boys) and a sort of make-do table I bought from Lee Winckler a million years ago at the Sandwich market came down. It’s a handy little piece and a fond memory. I still have to do dig out a functioning lamp or perhaps get ambitious and rewire one.
This is a damn dull post but hopefully I will get more interesting soon!
Onward.
Love,
Cynthia
Wish I could cast a spell against that ugly bacteria. Hugs
