Sometimes there is nothing more comforting than scrambled eggs and toast. We’re still kind of in comfort mode. But dinner last night was not a cheese sandwich! Ernie made a real dinner…albeit one of our favorites comforting ones; he roasted sumac chicken thighs with Farmer Greg’s sweet potatoes, spinach on the side.

In the continuing saga of our exciting life we have bugs in our dishwasher. Has anyone dealt with this? It’s freaking me the hell out and I’m starting to fear we are entering end times here on James Street. What next? I probably shouldn’t even ask…
Anybody have experience with a diabetic renal diet? My sister’s potassium levels are way too high so she has to combine a low potassium diet with her diabetic diet and the two are seemingly completely at odds. She has an appointment with a nutritionist to help but it’s a ways off. I’ve been poking around online but if anyone happens to know of resources they can recommend or experience with it, please let us know.

In other news I am quite hopeful this last round of antibiotics will do the trick. It’s kicking my ass a bit but if does the trick…I’ll take it. I must be feeling better because I actually thought about a short half day wander this weekend. I’ve barely been out of the house except for doctor’s appointments (man, those $30 co-pays add up) or Sola Gratia. It would be nice to see something of the world again.
Onward. I hope you are well.
Love,
Cynthia
What kind of bugs? Nora had roaches in her apartment dishwasher. They came up the drain after some water repairs downstairs. Ended up calling an exterminator who came out twice.
Thanks for asking about my dietary woes. Add to that my doc wants me to lose weight and I'm ready to pull my hair out!!!!!! Glad you're feeling a bit better - hang in there!!!! Love you!
