The Great Lost Spring of 2024 just keeps chugging along. What is that in my hand you ask? Why it’s antibiotic round number FOUR! Yes, after a day or two of thinking I was getting better at long last, my UTI came roaring back. I can’t even think of a funny comment. I’m just tired and sick of it all.
Saw these guys about a million years ago at Metro. As I recall she wore a beautiful vintage-y pink suit at that show.
Mother’s Day was somewhat quiet given how I felt although Ernie and his merry band of kitchen compatriots made some mean spicy sausage biscuits for me. Harley for the win.
He (Ernie, not Harley) also got me my favorite pink tulips and some plants from the Sola Gratia plant sale (which continues through the 19th from 9-5 every day).
At least the view from Convenient Care had a nice swath of yellow butterweed (if I’m not mistaken).
I’m home today, back to work tomorrow. Lord, I sat down with all these things to tell you but they have flown out of my head. It’s hard to focus when you feel lousy. I’ll just leave you with some pictures and a promise that one of these days I’ll be back to wanders, recipes, and the like.
We watched the Eurovision finals and I stand by my belief that Baby Lasagna was robbed.
Baby Lasagna states the song was inspired by a mass exodus of young adults leaving Croatia for better opportunities in foreign countries. Make all the fun you want. I love it. Remember, I love what I love and when I love, I love hard, whether it’s Ernie or my friends or Jelly Roll or David Olney. Oh, and we won’t even TALK about how much I love my boys.
Sometimes Papa Del’s is just what you need. I think my official favorite is gluten-free, sausage, pepperoncini and well done.
Ernie found a nice gluten free bread at Aldi. Nothing sounds good to me of late so there have been a fair number of toasted cheese sandwiches (a cheddar-gruyere blend also from Aldi) with greens for meals.
Ernie did make a fantastic actual dinner the other night however. Lamb loin chops (from Aldi) seared three minutes a side in a cast iron skillet with salt and pepper. Asparagus quickly sauteed in the pan drippings and new red potatoes from Farmer Greg (Claybank Farms) boiled in salty water so they needed nothing else. And, if I’m not mistaken, he did this without an assist from any of his kitchen friends.
Owen came by after work last night and gave me a stuffed eggplant for Mother’s Day. He knows that I have always said that if I were a vegetable I would be an eggplant. I christened her Esther and I love her.
Onward.
Love,
Cynthia
I love Esther ❤️🍆 Feel better soon!
Who could resist a boy giving his mama a stuffed eggplant? Swoon
