I feel better today. Stronger and a teensy, teensy bit less sad about my girl Hattie, and it’s all because of our beloved Kieran and Rayna. I’ve got that golden glow that utterly sublime live music gives me. They were just extraordinary last night. It was glorious. Thanks to Ed Hawkes and to Techline for hosting. Oh, and to Jim Eisenmenger for doing sound (it was so nice to meet you and Jenny after all this time, Jim!). The line of Harry Breen paintings behind Kieran and Rayna was just perfect too.
Their music, and their playing, and their singing, it is so clear and pure and true. It just goes straight to my heart and I know I wasn’t alone. It was also nice to see lots of familiar faces. I do miss our house concerts. But mostly, I just miss this music, these people.
I love them dearly. They did our hearts so much good.
Ernie and his beloved Kieran. But why did I get no pictures of us with Rayna? She is so wonderful. I just plain LIKE these people so much.
I just finished listening to them on WGN. Man, they were great. I’m going to stop gushing because it will start to get embarrassing. Speaking of which, I took a pain pill before we left the house last night as sitting in straight backed chairs for long periods gets iffy for my back. Unfortunately, pain pills make me VERY chatty so I talked a LOT to Kieran and Rayna after the show. Sorry, guys. Heh.
I don’t mean to pay short shrift to the biscuits. It was yet another wonderful biscuit day. Thank you, Rufus (Ernie has a rotating cast of characters that assist with biscuits, etc.).
Onward.
Love,
Cynthia
