Honestly, I have no idea what biscuit day we’re on but I’ll go with 548. Today’s biscuits were particularly good. Why? Because cranberry sauce, my friends, cranberry sauce. Bacon, sharp cheddar and mustard for Ernie. Bacon, sharp cheddar and cranberry sauce for me.
When I was perusing tourtière recipes I came across a recipe for cranberry ketchup that looks intriguing. I will let you know if I try it.
In other exciting news, they did it, they did it, they did it! Leo and Ernie came home with a Christmas tree. For God’s sake, just look at this. Lord I love my boys.
They said it was not an easy task. We knew the Prairie Garden balsams, which we usually get, were more expensive this year and I’d read that one of the tree farms had reported having no tall trees and not a big supply this year. My friend Kathleen (who has similar excellent taste in Christmas trees) had reported finding a cheap one at Rural King. Sadly they were sold out by the time they got there. They then went to Menard’s and found them way too short and not cheap to boot. They found their way to Country Arbors and although it was (of course) more than we wanted to spend, they found a beautiful skinny Frasier. I like my trees skinny. It’s not as tall as usual but that’s ok, we often have to cut them down. To top it off everybody was charming, they put it in the car for them and even their wrapping was festive. It’s the small things…
Now trying to find a time that works with everyone’s schedule to decorate may be a challenge but the tree is here and that makes me happy.
Now a few other images from Biscuit day.
It’s been a pretty quiet Biscuit Day so that’s all I have for you. I think I am finally feeling a bit better but am fading slightly. Sad to have missed Teri and Brian’s party last night but glad Ernie went without me (and brought me home treats). Now that it’s December I think we can start watching Hallmark Christmas movies. Talk about comfort food!
Onward. Have a good week all.
The tree is gorgeous!!!!!! And so are the lights in the fog!
